A simple description of a beautiful place, when words are too few to describe this marvel.

The Peles Castle is one of the greatest monuments. It is one of the greater structures that ever existed.

Your first impression when you walk in such a construction is that you feel very small because of the ornamental greatness. The building is so imposing that you might think that you are dreaming.

The place where this castle is built is heaven-like, and the building appears like a pure and refined princess in a land full of flowers. But when you step inside, the image changes radically. The color of the old wood makes you sad but at the same time takes you in an antique world, allowing you to find the charm of old times, culture and sophistication.

Nothing can be greater than the image of the beautiful sculptures, but only the image of some art pieces that seem magnificent now, but which in the past were mere objects. The color game, shape game, creates an immense pleasure, a profound impression which makes you want to stay there forever.

The more you advance to the center of this castle the more is dream-like. There are no words that can describe the sentiments that you have near this castle.

It was my first visit at this castle and I was baffled. I strongly recommend you to visit it and be impressed by its greatness. No matter how many beautiful words are said about this castle or how many photos you see, the feeling that you have when you walk inside cannot be described in words. I did not know what to expect and because of that I have chosen to wear a pair of trousers form one of my moms compleu, forgotten in the attic and the Lambretta watch which has a wonderful story and matches perfectly with this scenery. I will tell you more about the story of the watch in my next post, Timeless Desires.

  2. Peles Castle was definitely one of the highlights of my 2014 trip to Romania (I think I did three or four posts about it), I am surprised you hadn’t visited it before!

  3. Great post and pictures, Ramona. Looks like it would have been amazing visit, indeed. I have but one complaintโ€”sort of . . . while you look cool in the sunglasses and they have their place, we got to see only one shot without them. I think you should have more shots showing your eyes. No doubt like the rest of you, your eyes are very beautiful, and help make a picture more striking, especially on close ups. Now, I know these shots were focusing more on taking in the whole awesome presence of the location into focus, but I think you should do more pictures showing your eyes! Otherwise loved it, and what a very cool watch. Thanks for sharing!

  4. What a beautiful place and what a beautiful blog you have! I am ridiculously flattered that you have followed mine and really hope I don’t let you down. Meanwhile, I will submerge myself in more of yours and of course, it goes without saying that I have followed you back with no hesitation!
